Navigating change.... & a mango juice recipe
The 2 loop model ... and Nature (therefore, also, a mango juice recipe because trees outside my window are full of mangoes).
The process of change is something I’ve been thinking about this last week …. My good life coach reminded me of the 2 loop model. Here’s a video about it:
In this way of looking at change I’m reminded to hospice the old things that no longer serve (ie be gentle - perhaps there is reason to tend the old stuff you want to let go of as it’s falling away); Compost and recycle things you can draw forwards from old systems and old ideas, and find the treasures within the change that have been bubbling up whilst you’ve been busy working …
As I think about change I see around me the way nature manages life and death and the seasons …
There are the 20 chicken eggs that didn’t hatch and 4 that did that were adopted by the turkey mom; the trees are pushing their leaves out in anticipation of the rains to come with the new moon and the changing winds; the bee hive was divided (to create a new colony - therefore an extra bee hive) and got feisty and sent out the guards to sting everyone on the property (dogs included); the guarachilla wren is building her nest by the kitchen window; the kiskadee yellow breasted fly catcher is pecking on my bedroom window thinking its reflection is its lover; the mangoes green on the trees are good for making fresh juice; and boulders are being hauled from the dry creek to make garden beds.
The Mangoes, the ones on my trees, are still a little green - not bright yellow sweet and juicy - so I like making juice with them. Here’s how to do that…
Mango Juice:
4 - 6 unripe mangoes & a pot of water.
Process:
Boil mangoes in water until they are soft. Discard water. Let mangoes cool. Peel them and take out seed. Then….. Blend in fresh water and add sugar to taste. Put in a pitcher and refrigerate and serve ice cold.
Wishing you well,
Lucy
