How rhythm and routine reduce stress and wild peace turns up the dial for inspiration
All of that and more in artist and writers residencies at Apothefinca
I made this video to share why I created Apothefinca as a place for healing, artists and creativity - far away from where I grew up. I was born in England and then moved to Canada as a teenager. I always wanted to be a writer but my mother told me it was a bad idea for a profession. She was probably right in some ways - and wrong in other ways. I am a writer. It’s one of my ways of expressing myself.
For years I felt like I was walking a parallel life path to the real one I wanted to be on. I changed many things in order to walk my own path. I created this home, this medicinal farm, this beautiful place that I call Apothefinca (Apothecary farm) and here is where I write.
The name of the book I’m working on is ‘The Home Tree’. The book is a collection of nature notes; wise council; myth and life stories.
And now, I’m excited to open the call to artists and writers to join me here and stay and create. You can find information here for artist and writers residencies.
Staying here you’ll give vibrant, full, wild peace. The kind of peace that’s full, evocative, and deeply grounded. This is land and nature that informs art. Come and stay and create. Or simply come and stay.
I’ve created month long containers for residencies because it gives time to settle, create rhythm and routine. Routine is nourishing for our adrenal glands. It helps reduce stress. And everything here at Apothefinca is about health and good company.
Please reach out and please do share … My place is a well kept secret up a long country road with beauty all around.
See you here.
With love,
Lucy
