I hope you can read my hand writing… if not never mind …. It was my birthday on Monday. I’m 47. It sounds quite something. I have arrived somewhere. Perhaps I feel that way because in the last part of 46’ness I broken some rather large illusions I had about life and how I thought things should work out and discovered (surprisingly) there’s a beautiful side to independence I was in far too much of a hurry to let go of. Do you know if you flip independence on its head you get loneliness? Well. It’s true. I had to flip myself right side.
I began my birthday this week (on August 12th in case you’d like to know) with a door corner tarantula surprise, followed by a protective chasing momma pig and a flock of pelicans.
I did not have any celebrations, just nature and writing and chats with my daughter and a nice dinner.
I hope your August is lovely. I look forward to seeing some of you in September online for class or maybe, if you live here, at my place in the garden or in the ocean.
With love,
Lucy
